Germophobes rejoice! Kyocera reveals £300 Digno Rafre phone you can wash with SOAP
  • Kyocera's phone is aimed at people who want to keep their phones clean
  • The ¥57,420 (£310) device has no speaker and is sealed to keep water out
  • Device 'can be washed as thoroughly as a piece of tableware'
  • Studies have shown smartphones contain more bacteria than toilet seats
The average phone is caked in bacteria and germs picked up from people's hands and bags throughout the day. If the idea of carrying around such a disgusting gadget turns your stomach, a Japanese phone maker has designed a handset you can wash with soap. The ¥57,420 (£310) device from Kyocera, called Digno Rafre, can be cleaned 'as thoroughly as a piece of tableware' and is due for release next week in Japan. 洗手机 An advert for the phone suggests Digno Rafre would be ideal for children, or clumsy people of all ages who tend to drop their phones in their meal while taking pictures. Helping people take bath-tubs selfies is also shown as another possible use, and the phone even comes with a rubber duck-shaped floating stand.  xishouji1 More importantly, the innovation would provide an easy solution for removing the germs collected on the surface of phones. Recent studies have found that handsets gather germs, including Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus mycoides, from hands, bathrooms and public transport. One study in particular found that particularly dirty phones can be covered with ten times more bacteria than a public toilet seat, including faecal matter. While waterproof phones have been around for years, especially from the likes of Sony, creating soap-resistant handsets has proved more difficult. Kyocera said it solves this problem through 'better sealing', although did not elaborate further. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company suggests using soap foam rather than solid soap bars. It also uses a so-called Smart Sonic Receiver - a patented technology that transmits sound through the user's 'connective tissue', freeing the smartphone from an actual speaker. xishouji Put more simply, the Smart Sonic receiver transmits sound through vibrations on the phone's screen. When a user places their ear around the internal receiver they can adjust the position of the phone to find the best hearing point depending on the surrounding environment. Apart from its hygienic edge, Digno Rafre also has a 'dynamic plastic back cover' that automatically 'heals' scratches. 链接:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3344134/Germophobes-rejoice-Kyocera-reveals-300-Digno-Rafre-phone-wash-SOAP.html
